Why PADI Open Water?

The PADI Open Water Course is the entry-level course for scuba divers. Once completed this qualification allows you to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum of 18 metres.

 

Minimum Age

Open Water Diver 15 yrs, Junior Open Water Diver 10 yrs.

 

Course Materials

Open Water Manual, Recreational Dive Planner and instruction booklet. Open Water Diver DVD

 

Course Content

Classroom sessions, Confined Water Dives (swimming pool), Open Water Dives.

 

Time Table

 

Week One

Tuesday: 6.30pm at the Bath Dive Centre. Theory session then transfer to Kingswood School for first pool session from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.

Wednesday: 7.30pm - 10.00pm Kingswood School pool diving.

Thursday: 6.30pm - 9.00pm theory session at the Dive Centre.

 

Week Two

Tuesday: 6.30pm at the Bath Dive Centre. Theory session then transfer to Kingswood School for first pool session from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.

Wednesday: 7.30pm - 10.00pm Kingswood School final pool diving session.

Thursday: 6.30pm - 9.00pm theory session and final exam at the Dive Centre.

 

Sunday / Monday

Four Open Water dives over two days to complete the course.

 

Referral Course

It is possible to do a referral course that includes the theory and swimming pool sections of the course. You can then take a referral form to any other PADI Dive Centre in the world, and complete the four qualifying dives.
